Png not showing transparency areas in GameSalad Creator

Hi, for some reason when I import png image with transparency into GS Creator, the transparency isn't working - it shows as white. What am I doing wrong? (It's been a long time since I last used GS but I shouldn't have forgotten this basic stuff...) ;-)
Any help appreciated, thanks.

I think you'll need to make sure you are saving the PNG files as 24 bit vs 8 bit.

what color mode are your images using? if they’re indexed (not rgb) they won’t display right.

Hi Jamie and Bob, thanks for help. I did both those things but it still displayed without transparency.
I suddenly remembered why this morning: the image is a hud frame with a transparent middle - GS can't show transparent middles, so I imported the frame image in two half and it's working now :-)
Wonder how long it's going to take me to get back up to speed? ;-)

good you sorted it, but what do you mean gs can't display transparent middles? my current project has insides cut out of heaps of objects/images that display the hollow/transparent portions properly.
Glad to hear you got it working but also wonder what you mean by 'transparent middle', can you demonstrate?

Hi again Bob and Jamie - here's the frame I was talking about, with a transparent middle that's totally enclosed:
I've just noticed that when you download the png above, the transparent middle has been replaced with black - no matter, where it's black is definitely transparent in my file on the computer.

The inside of that image is black on my machine, but if I open it in preview and delete the inside it works as expected
.
@adriangomez
Hi Adrian, thanks for testing - yes, the download altered the transparency to black - for sure my original image has transparency inside.
How strange it doesn't work in my GS Creator (I have the latest version on the Mac). Are you using a Mac or a PC can I ask?

hi guys, well, that's strange: it works fine now....
I had dragged the png into an old (very old) GS project (but opened in the latest version of Creator) - that didn't work.
But opened a fresh game file and it works.
So all good! Thank you again for your help.

Awesome! On a Mac running 10.15.6 (have not updated to .7) for future reference.
Hi, just to follow up I tested it on my Mac as well. Once I remove the black area it works as expected. I'm running OSX 10.14.5 and GS 1.25.98.

@jamie_c
Thanks for checking it out as well, Jamie. It's no problem now I've imported it into a fresh game - didn't play nicely with a very old GS game file, even though it was running in the latest Creator... all's well now :-)
